Jasper van Weerd is CEO of Lipocoat and founder of the LipoCoat coating technology, translating lipid-based science into products that improve the safety, comfort and performance of medical devices.
Jasper van Weerd is CEO of Lipocoat, the company he founded in 2016 to bring LipoCoat, the lipid-based coating technology developed at the University of Twente, to medical device manufacturers. Under his leadership Lipocoat has grown into a coating group whose products improve the safety, comfort and performance of medical devices. He also serves as CEO of Sono-Coat, Lipocoat's echogenic coating platform, and is a board member and co-founder of ScoutinScience, an AI-driven tech transfer company.
Jasper holds a PhD in Molecular Nanofabrication from the University of Twente, where his research spanned molecular biology, tissue engineering and supramolecular chemistry before he turned his lab work into LipoCoat.
