We are growing
LipoCoat develops bio-inspired coatings that make medical devices safer and more comfortable. Our patented, PFAS-free lipid coating is only a few nanometres thin, mimics the natural cell membrane, and keeps proteins and bacteria from sticking to surfaces such as contact lenses, catheters and implants. We are a University of Twente spin-off at Kennispark in Enschede, we work under an ISO 13485 quality system, and we are scaling our technology together with medical device manufacturers across Europe, the United States and Asia.

Your role
- R&D and laboratory — surface chemistry, formulation, analytical characterisation, microbiology, biocompatibility.
- Process and production — coating process development, scale-up, cleanroom operations, equipment engineering.
- Quality and regulatory affairs — ISO 13485, MDR, technical documentation, validation.
- Commercial — business development, key account management, technical sales, marketing.
- Operations and support — project management, supply chain, finance, HR, IT.

- You want your work to end up in a product that reaches patients, not in a drawer.
- You are comfortable with the pace and the ambiguity of a scale-up: priorities shift, and you help decide what matters.
- You take ownership end to end and you ask for help early rather than late.
- You work precisely and can explain your reasoning to colleagues from a different discipline.
- You communicate fluently in English (our working language); Dutch is a plus.
- You hold a valid work permit for the Netherlands, or are eligible for the Dutch highly skilled migrant scheme.
Why LipoCoat
We spun out of the University of Twente in 2016 with a single idea. Now our headquarters and labs sit on the same innovation campus in Enschede, the Netherlands, where we innovate novel medical device coatings
We are a team of scientists and engineers small enough that everyone knows what everyone else is working on, and ambitious enough to take a university invention all the way into products used on patients. The structure is flat, decisions are made quickly, and the working language is English.
